After being successfully signed into the Community Charter, Doctor Mira Hall had the magical Community at her fingertips . . .
Well, sort of.

All that trouble—going through a blood ritual, saving a flock of ungrateful, reality-bending birds, and talking to not-quite-gods—and the damned book she needed to help connect with her patients simply won’t open.

It was like not being able to get into her online diary because the damn robot thing said the password was wrong (did she forget to capitalize her pet’s name?). Or when her biometric scanner refused to open her laptop because her fingers were wrinkly after a bath.

She’s tried prying the Charter open. Using her ability. Pricking her finger and trailing blood down the spine. She’d even gone as far as begging with it. Still, she can’t open her copy of the damned thing.

So, like any good doctor, she must search for and consult with experts in the Community to figure out why.

Along the way, Mira discovers more about her new standing and members of the Community, watches an actual wizard play D&D, and finds out how to park a shapeshifting horse in a parking garage.

This is the second tale in the City of Brotherly Magic series, where the City of Brotherly Love is the magical place it always was, but now it’s just a little more literal. And a lot more dangerous.

Come and follow this Woman of Science as she navigates a world of magic in Scribe.
